Hello & Welcome

Psychotherapy is a collaborative partnership. We work together to help you better understand yourself, take better care of yourself, eliminate unwanted behaviors and. If you're honest, open, and willing to explore, we can help you learn from your mistakes instead of beating yourself up. Psychotherapy provides a vehicle for increased self-awareness and an overall sense of wellness.

We develop an approach together that fits you and draws on my background in relationship and systems work, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic psychology, and cognitive and behavioral work.

Over 17 years of private practice experience has taught me to adapt the therapy to the client. While I have a general practice, I specialize in the challenges and crises of life transitions, grief and loss, women’s issues and health issues.

About Me

I received my master’s degree in social work from Bryn Mawr College. My clinical experience includes providing outpatient therapy in community mental health and at Council for Relationships. I coordinated the Counseling and Support Services Program at a hospital cancer center where I provided individual, couple, family and group therapy to patients with cancer and their families. I am a consultant for people with cancer at The Cancer Support Community of Philadelphia, various local hospices, and The Multiple Sclerosis Society.

I specialize in helping people cope with health conditions including chronic illness, multiple sclerosis, cancer and infertility. I also address a range of issues from emotional stress, grief, anxiety, depression, and relational issues. I incorporate a psychodynamic and relational perspective in my work. I provide a holistic approach including reducing symptoms that limit quality of life and improving one's awareness of self-experiences that hinder personal growth and healing.

I lecture on topics including cancer, multiple sclerosis, coping with loss and bereavement. I am a fellow at the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work, a member of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society. I am also certified as an ethics instructor by the National Association of Social Work.
